Implementation Guide on cybersecurity for ARTS

This implementation guide details the cybersecurity requirements for automated road transport systems (ARTS) covered by the French Transport Code (Articles R. 3151-1 to R. 3153-1).

It is intended for all professionals in the automated road transport sector.

The purpose of this guide is to clarify and define the applicable requirements in terms of the measures to be implemented to limit cybersecurity risks. It formalises the agreed expectations of STRMTG and the sector, thus providing a framework to facilitate the work of professionals. The guide is not regulatory in nature, but observance of its provisions can be seen as an indication of compliance with regulatory requirements and/or the suitability of the approach adopted.

The guide is limited to cybersecurity risks that could affect the safety of occupants and third parties with regard to the operation of the automated road transport system, i.e. when a human driver is not performing the dynamic control of the vehicle, on roads open to public traffic.

This document was prepared by the national ARTS cybersecurity working group created by STRMTG.
