Approved contractors

Contractors are involved in the construction or substantial modification of ropeway installations or conveyor belts. In particular, they are required to ensure that installations or equipment are set up in compliance with technical and safety regulations.

Approved annuel inspection technicians

Annual inspection technicians carry out annual tests on brakes in various operating scenarios and safety devices on aerial ropeways, funicular railways and cog railways.

Approved cable inspectors

Cable inspectors carry out multi-year cable inspections. These inspections are visual, dimensional and magnetographic.

Approved independant technical inspectors

Independent technical inspectors check the design of certain ropeway installation and conveyor belt components.

Approved SMS Inspection Bodies

The inspection bodies and examiners of the Safety Management Systems (SMS) of ropeway installation or conveyor belt operators carry out periodic inspections of the SMS, for operators who have chosen to have periodic inspections carried out on their SMS. These bodies and examiners draw up an inspection report, which is sent to the operator and the inspection department at the same time. This report lists any non-conformities found and identifies areas for improvement.
