RESCOR is the European network of services responsible for the oversight and regulation of urban transport safety

This article contains information about RESCOR - European Network of Services responsible for the oversight and regulation of the safety of urban guided transport such as metros and/or tramways, in which STRMTG participates.

The European RESCOR network has been meeting annually since the end of 2014 and includes national bodies involved in the oversight and regulation of urban rail transport safety, such as metros and/or tramways.

These meetings are an opportunity to learn about local technical specificities through visits to host networks (line visits, maintenance workshop visits, visits to the central command centre, etc.) and for oversight authorities to discuss about safety subjects :

  • national regulations and standardisation approach;
  • national know-how (guides) and ongoing studies or reflection;
  • emerging safety issues, in order to see to what extent each country is confronted with them and how they are addressing them;
  • large-scale or specific projects;
  • accidentology

Germany, Denmark, Spain, Ireland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom are currently represented.
