STRMTG celebrates its 40th anniversary and the inauguration of its new offices (Sept. 2021)

On 16 September 2021, the Technical Service in Charge of Safety for Ropeways and Guided Transports (STRMTG) celebrated its 40th anniversary and the inauguration of its new offices in Saint Martin d’Hères (south-eastern France). We look back at this special day.

An inauguration and several anniversaries

STRMTG celebrates the inauguration of its new head office building and South-East Office (BSE) in Saint Martin d’Hères, as well as:

  • The 40th anniversary of STRM (established in 1979),
  • The 20th anniversary of STRMTG (addition of guided transports (TG) in 2001),
  • The 10th anniversary of the merger of STRMTG and the inspection offices (01/01/2011),
  • The 15th anniversary of the Notified Body (2004).

On 16 September 2021, the service took stock of the past 40 years and provided information on STRMTG’s future direction, with the Isère Prefect and the Director General of Infrastructure, Transport and the Sea (DGITM) in attendance.

It was an enjoyable event for staff, officials and professionals in the fields of ropeway, guided transport and automated road transport.
And it all took place in a new building that underwent major extension, renovation and refurbishment work over three years (2017-2020).
