Mountain resort conveyor belts are used to transport standing passengers on a continuous or modular belt driven by a motor.
Description of mountain resort conveyor belts
These systems are very popular with beginner skiers, and are often made available to nursery slope customers (at the base of ski slopes in front of buildings), ski schools and kindergartens.
Since 2004, mountain resort conveyor belts have been under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport. Since then, STRMTG has issued an opinion (AVTA) for each new type of conveyor belt put into service.
In 2004, there were 105 mountain resort conveyor belts in France.
Today, with the latest figures from the 2022 Activity Report, France has 478 mountain resort conveyor belts.
