FUNITEL - continuous movement unidirectional monocable aerial ropeway

Funitels are “large monocable gondola lifts”. The main difference is that each cabin is suspended from 2 carrying-hauling ropes instead of just one.

This feature obviously allows more people to be carried (cabins can hold up to 40 people, seated and/or standing).

The position of the two ropes also improves the wind stability of the cabins, enabling safe operation in stronger winds than with a gondola lift, and greater distances to be covered without the need for pylons.

The performance and price of funitels are similar to those of a detachable bicable gondola lift.
