STRMTG at the 70th ITTAB Congress (September 2021)

The ITTAB (Internationale Tagung des Technischen Aufsichtsbehörden) was held in Brunnen, Switzerland from Monday 27 September to Wednesday 29 September 2021. Around 50 people attended the 70th ITTAB congress, including around 20 who took part via videoconference over three days (given the health context, there was no technical tour). 16 countries were represented.

STRMTG presented changes to the European conveyor belt standard, the approach to streamline inspections following the ski season, and fire analysis procedures for urban aerial ropeways.

ITTAB

ITTAB is a four-day international meeting held every year that brings together cableway authorities from all over the world.

The first meeting was initiated by Germany and expanded in the 1960s. Its members include Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Poland, Norway and Austria. It is hosted by member countries on a rotating basis. Today, some twenty countries regularly attend this meeting. It is an opportunity for international discussion on changes to the fleet and accidents in each country, as well as technical solutions and standards implemented to improve the safety of occupants. Each year, STRMTG contributes extensively to the discussions by presenting significant safety events.
